Owners Shannon Reckzin graduated from Recreation Leadership & Robert Reckzin graduated from Law & Security at Sir SandFord Flemming College. Together with our Algonquin Outdoor Adventure Guides we are trained in CPR and first aid and are knowledgeable about wildlife, history and the ecological issues in Ottawa Valley's Wilderness Areas. Algonquin Outdoor Adventures is suitable for most people, experienced or not. Providing exciting getaways for families and Groups that are looking to embrace the wilderness this region has to offer. Our Guides have lived around the Algonquin Park and Ottawa Valley area all of their lives, which gives us the confidence and knowledge needed in this type of business. Interesting facts about the Algonquin Park
The Algonquin Park is Massive at 7,725 square km. Its larger then the province of Prince Edward Island, it is spotted by 2,256 lakes along with miles of rouged walking trials, as well as 1600 canoe routes. Your guide at Algonquin Outdoor Adventures will feed you with interesting facts about the Parks history and culture while covering some of the most breathtaking scenery in the East side of the park, visit remote lakes, lookout points, waterfalls, the Barron Canyon, coniferous and deciduous forests, rocky shore lines, beaver ponds, spruce bogs, and you may have the opportunity to encounter the abundant wild life. The Park is home to roughly 2,500 moose, 30,000 beavers, 2,000 black bears and 300 wolfs. White tailed deer, beavers, otters, martens, muskrat, mink and many more. Over 266 species of birds have been sighted in the park, 80 sightings of Butterflies 1000 flora observations and another 1000 species of fungi.
